Design of Amphibious Rescue Vehicle
Truhlář, Jonáš ; Karásek, David (referee) ; Rubínová, Dana (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the design of an amphibious rescue vehicle with a focus on rescue and evacuation of patients from inaccessible or flooded areas. The aim is to design a product that would fulfill the function of pre-hospital emergency care to the patient in the field and that would meet the conditions for integration between ambulance rescue vehicles. The representative amphibious vehicle for this work is a special articulated tracked vehicle known as a bandvagn. The thesis analyses in detail the intersection of the two markets of ambulance and amphibious in an attempt to find the aspects determining the development of the product. The design puts emphasis on the economic and financial balance of the proposed product, which it places on the product construction. The very design uses the integration of the off-road aspect of the vehicle with the ambulant one to bring a new perspective on the body shape of the modules.

The patient healing hemodialysis at home by the paramedic´s perspective
KŘIVÁNEK, Martin
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of domestic haemodialysis with special attention to the role of paramedics in dealing with acute problems associated with this procedure. The work is intended as theoretical, without the author´s own research. It aims at reviewing treatment options for kidney failure, describing the principle of home haemodialysis, its benefits and disadvantages for patients and their families. Special attention is paid both to potential risks brought about by this method of dialysing blood and to ways of addressing the complications from the perspective of pre-hospital care. To achieve its goals, the work outlines and compares current attitudes towards these issues both in this country and abroad. Its introductory part summarizes the structure and functions of kidneys, the most frequent causes of renal diseases as well as their possible therapies. Further on, it introduces in greater details both general and specific procedures applied by emergency medical squads in case of complications during domestic haemodialysis. The main scientific contribution of the work consists in the very synthesis of the present knowledge and methods of treatment and - at the same time - in defining the so far unresolved issues. The part of the thesis devoted to home haemodialysis, which still represents a relatively rarely used method, underlines particularly the fact that emergency medical procedures responding to specific complications connected with this treatment have not been sufficiently defined yet. The thesis therefore comes to the conclusion that paramedics facing acute problems associated with domestic haemodialysis have to rely mainly on general procedures determined for providing pre-hospital care. That is why this field still remains open for further theoretical research. Detailed potential practical steps aimed specifically at complications during home haemodialysis are in demand as well.
Training of a rescue paramedic to undertake rescue activities in difficult terrain
REICHOVÁ, Natálie
The title of this bachelor thesis is "Training of rescue paramedic to undertake rescue activities in difficult terrain". The thesis is split into two parts - a literature review and a research. Literature review focuses on particular bodies of the Integrated Rescue System that can provide rescue operations in hard to access terrain. These bodies are: Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, Mountain Rescue Service of the Slovak Republic, Height Rescue Department of the Medical Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region and Mountain Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. A short overview is provided for each body, with description of the specialized preparation - theoretical as well as practical and availability and quality of equipment. The research focuses on a comparison of physical, psychological and theoretical preparedness of representatives from each emergency service body. The research also analyses the technical and safety & rescue equipment of each body. As a methodology we used a qualitative research conducting semi-structured interviews with three mountain rescue paramedics from Mountain Rescue Service of the Slovak Republic, with three members of the Height Rescue Department of the Medical Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region, who are also flight paramedics, with three firefighters from the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, and one mountain rescue paramedic from the Mountain Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. The aim of the research is to compare physical preparadness and the level of its difficulty, theoretical and practical preparedness, level of psychological difficulty, the availability of psychological intervention, the availability and quality of equipment and different types and kinds of rescue activities in each of the interviewed bodies. The findings indicate that the biggest differences across the emergency services bodies interviewed are in the level of physical preparedness and difficulty. Firefighters and mountain rescue paramedics in both countries have to take part in physical preparation and are also regularly tested in it. Whereas flight paramedics don't have to take part in any physical preparation or any regular testing as part of their employment
